* 2 tablespoons garlic powder

* 2 tablespoons onion powder

* 2 tablespoons dried basil

* 2 tablespoons dried oregano

* 1 tablespoon dried thyme

* 2 tablespoons black pepper

* 3 tablespoons salt

* 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper

* 5 tablespoons paprika

Directions

* Mix together all the ingredients.

* Store in an airtight container until you need to use it. (I used a glass jar)

Today I made a batch of Cajun seasoning because I needed some for the potatoes I was serving with dinner. The jar I bought at the store was empty so I decided I would never buy pre-made cajun seasonings again, hehe. It’s so easy to do!

( I used Himalayan pink salt)

* 1 tablespoon black pepper

* 2 tablespoons cayenne pepper

Taco Seasoning

Standard

I finally decided to make my own taco seasoning.. it was about time! *shame on me* We were not big taco eaters, but I use that spice blend when I cook some bean dishes, but I was always buying the pre-packed one from the store. Finally the taste is way better and you can adjust the quantity of each spice in your mixture. Also, it’s way cheaper!

The first ingredient in the kind you can buy at the store is sugar… in the homemade version there is none. There is also no agents with weird names. Starting today, I will never buy taco seasoning again!!

Servings

5 1/2 tablespoons

Ingredients

* 2 tablespoons chili powder

* 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

* 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

* 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

* 1/2 teaspoon paprika

* 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

* 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin

* 1 teaspoon black pepper

* 1 teaspoon Himalayan pink salt (or any kind of salt you want)
